This page shows a wonderful example of brickwork - a simple arch
which you wouldn't normally notice. It is by the Fyndon gate off
Lady Wootton's Green.

All these shapes would be made by hand, by rubbing the bricks individually
on stone.

Another type of formation is called 'toothing', which is when the
brick headers are made to stick out like square teeth - but when
they are diagonal to make sharp teeth, as here, it is called 'cogging'.
