Notes:
Scoffham describes this in his book (see bibliography).
The walls are in black brick (rather strange bond - see below),
but the windows and doors are surrounded with red brick. The house
on the left shows original windows with glazing bars. Scoffham says
that the dormers in the attic (the projecting windows) were a new
feature at the time.
Signs of relative wealth include the door cover (see photo) and
the bootscrapers (also see photo).
